To start with, Rustom is the third collaboration between Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, the last two were Special 26 and Baby.

The movie is set in the background of 1950s, and is the first movie of director Tinu Suresh Desai.

It is loosely based on certain real life stories. “Rustom will not just have a strong romantic plot but also a thrilling murder mystery. It’s a beautiful story that the audience will connect to and the puzzling murder will keep you riveted with interesting twist and turns.” – A source.

The film has been shot in India and Britain. It stars actors Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta, Pavan Malhotra, Sachin Khedekar and Arjan Bajwa.

It will release on the Independence Day weekend this year (August 12). Akshay’s film revolves around patriotism one more time.
