Anil Kapoor Was The Reason, Behind Madhuri Dixit Never Worked with Amitabh Bachchan?

Why haven’t we ever seen Madhuri and Amitabh Bachchan together on-screen?

Madhuri Dixit and Amitabh Bachchan were only seen together in a song from Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan. Apart from that, these top stars of the late 80s and early 90s were never seen together in any movie. Ever wondered why? 

If we go with the rumours, it was because of Anil Kapoor. After starring in several hits Anil was covering the numero uno position in Bollywood. Mithun Da was also giving fierce competition to him. On the other hand, Amitabh’s career was in the decline, his movies weren’t creating the kind of magic he was renowned for. 

Anil was using Madhuri, the red hot heroine after the success of Tezaab as his trump card. He stopped her from working opposite Amitabh to gain an advantage over him. Amitabh was then forced to work with Jaya Prada, Kimi Katkar, Amrita Singh. The other top heroines, Sridevi also refused to work with AB as heroines barely had any meaningful roles in his movies. 

But when AB took a sabbatical, Anil and Mithun’s career went downhill. It was in fact the Khan triumvirate and Sunny Deol who took turns to rule Bollywood in the 90s.
