Bio:

Daughter of Shivinder Singh Virk and Rukhsana Sultana, Amrita Singh was born in Hadali, Pakistan and brought up in New Delhi. Amrita made her film debut with Betaab (1983) opposite Sunny Deol and went on to star in several successful films including Sunny, Mard, Saaheb, Chameli Ki Shaadi, Naam and Khudgarz. During the first innings of her career that lasted till 1993, she starred in a number of hit films opposite Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. Amrita married Saif Ali Khan in 1991 but her marriage could only last for 13 years. The couple has two children from their marriage – Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan
