Anurag Basu is an Indian film director and writer who makes films that deal with intense relationships and adultery like Life in a… Metro, Gangster and Murder. He started his career with the film 2003 movie Kuchh To Hai, which he had to leave mid-way and got directed by Anil V. Kumar later. He then collaborated with Vishesh Films, and directed the John Abraham and Tara Sharma-starrer Saaya. Anurag Basu was diagnosed with acute leukemia in 2004 while he was directing Tumsa Nahin Dekha. It is believed that he even directed parts of the film from the hospital bed and gave instructions on a dictaphone.
