Aruna Irani is a veteran actress who has featured in over 300 films so far, in Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi. Mostly seen in supporting and character roles, Irani holds a record of winning nomination for the Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Role category the highest number (ten) of times. Her first film in 1961 was ‘Ganga Jamuna’. She later acted in films like ‘Anpadh’, ‘Devi’, ‘Bombay To Goa’, ‘Bobby’, ‘Rocky’, ‘Fakira’ before she shifted to doing older and motherly roles in the late 1980s. She won her first Filmfare Award for ‘Pet Pyaar Aur Paap’ in 1984 and was honoured with Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.
