Born as Rachna Chawla in a Punjabi family in New Delhi, Bhumika Chawla completed her studies and then moved to Mumbai in 1997. She started working in ad films and music videos, thereafter foraying in to TV series. Her film career began with a Telugu film in 2000. In 2003 came her first Hindi film ‘Tere Naam’ opposite Salman Khan. The film was a msssive hit becoming one of the year’s highest grossers.
