Bio:

Born as Krishna Sarin completed her education in Lahore and Lucknow. In order to follow her dreams of acting in films, she had to go on a hunger strike to convince her parents for the same. She moved out of her hometown Kanpur to pursue her passion. She made her Hindi film debut in 1951 witha lead role in ‘Kali Ghata’. The following year, she married actor Prem Nath. She is best remembered for her roles in films like Taj Mahal, Anarkali, Bandi, Insaniyat and Ghunghat. Her role in Ghunghat also won her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Bina Rai died a sudden death due to cardiac arrest in 2009.
