The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Jacky Shroff and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. This was the big-budget film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It was the most expensive film made in its times, it cost Rs 50 crore. It took Rs 12 crore to make Chandramukhi’s brothel and the other 6 sets of the film were made in Rs 20 crore.
The home where Aishwarya’s scenes were shot was made by joining 1.22 lakh pieces of glass. While shooting for the song Dola Re Dola, Aishwarya wore a heavy jewelry due to which her ears started bleeding. Cheers to the 16 years of this finest film of Bollywood!
