Bio:

Born in a Gujarati family to Amit Patel and Asha Patel, Ameesha Patel began her career as an economic analyst. However, she later joined Satyadev Dubey’s theatre group in Mumbai and decided to pursue a full-time career in acting. It was at this time she started modeling and went on to appear in several successful advertising campaigns. Rakesh Roshan, who was schoolmate of Ameesha’s father, gave her an opportunity to play female lead in Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai (2000) opposite his son Hrithik Roshan and that was the beginning of Ameesha’s film career. Post the blockbuster success of the film, she starred in another successful venture Gadar: Ek Prem Katha opposite Sunny Deol. After giving a series of flops, she then appeared in highly successful Humraaz. Post that, none of her films worked at the box-office and she is still struggling to make a successful comeback.
