Celebrity Couples Who Run Away From Their Parents To Get Married!

This has been a very commonly seen in the Hindi films that hero-heroine eloped to get married, but now it has been a very common scenario in the real life too. Not only common people but celebrities from Bollywood have also eloped with their better half.
Take a look at some Bollywood celebrities who ran away and got married.

1.Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta


Aamir Khan, who run away with Juhi Chawla to get married in film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, interestingly also eloped and tied the knot in real too. Yes!! Mr. perfectionist of Bollywood ran away with his childhood sweetheart, Reena Dutta to get married. Aamir proposed his love, Reena (next-door neighbour) the day he turned 21.
Aamir is a Muslim and Reena was a Hindu so the couple the couple faced staunch opposition from Reena’s family. Thus, Aamir in the typical filmy style eloped with Reena and got married on April 18, 1986, two year before Aamir’s Bollywood debut in QSQT.
Things changed with time and after 16 years of marriage, the couple parted ways. While Reena is a single mom to his 2 kids Junaid and Ira, Aamir went ahead to tie the knot with Kiran Rao whom he met on the sets of Lagaan.

2. Sohail Khan and Seema Sachdev


Salman Khan’s younger brother actor-produre Sohail Khan’s love story was also filmy. Actually Sohail fall in love with a Hindu girl Seema Sachdav. Sohail eloped with Seema in a true film style on the day of his brother Salman’s movie, ‘Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya’ released. The marriage took place only after a week.
Since the girl was a Punjabi, they first had an Arya Samaj wedding and later in the evening there was a nikaah. Sohail’s family accepted it with grace and goodwill. The couple have two kids named Nirvaan and Yohan.

3. Padmini Kolhapure and Pradeep Sharma


An Indian actress and singer, Padmini Kolhapure, met film producer, Pradeep Sharma, also known as TuTu Sharma during one of their films ‘Aisa Pyaar Kahan’. He was the film producer and she was the heroine. They fell in love and had a courtship for a couple of years but always denying it in public.
Padimini’s parents were not in favour of their relationship, as Pradeep hailed from a different community. After failing to convince them, Padmini eloped with her producer boyfriend. They tied the knot on August 14, 1986 at a friend’s house in Mumbai. They have a son named Priyank Sharma.

4. Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kendal


The veteran actor Shashi Kapoor met Jennifer Kendal in Kolkata in 1956, while working in their respective theatre groups, Prithvi Theatre and Shakespeareana group.After a few meetings, the duo fell in love and decided to get married. However, Jennifer’s father disapproved the relationship as Shashi was Indian.
But despite this, Jennifer flew down to India nmand married Shashi in a traditional Indian manner in July 1958. Later, in 1984, Jennifer died of cancer leaving Shashi shattered. The couple have three children- Karan, Kunal and Sanjana.
