400 People from All over India Came Together to Create Deepika’s Padmavati Costumes


Deepika Padukone’s look as a Rajput queen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs. The actress as a maharani is seen sporting vintage ethnic costumes that took as many as 400 artists working day and night in order to nail the royal look on screen.

“Artists from all over India contributed in creating costumes of Padmavati. These included people from Sanganer who developed special prints for textiles, the golden-silver foil printing took place in Delhi, there were five units in Benares who contributed too, we got the gotta patti work done in small villages in Japiur,” says costume designer Harpreet Narula.
