Two Distinct Looks

While it is known that Deepika plays a Rajput queen in the film, the SLB directorial also has a Sri Lankan side to her character. Her journey begins from being a Sinhalese princess to a Rajput queen. This transformation is also depicted through her costumes. Talking about the differences in the costumes, Harpreet says, “Unlike the Rajputana outfits, the Sinhalese ones are much lighter. The Sinhalese outfits give very 12th century tropical look. The fabrics used are very organic like a lot of cotton, jute and linen kind of fabric has been used.”
