Filmmaker Raja Krishna Menon’s ‘Chef’ was a official remake of an American film of the same name. Though the movie was a disaster at the box office, it received acclaim for the performances. And amongst all, it was debutante Padmapriya’s brilliant and matured performance that left a deep impression. She did complete justice to the role and indeed it is one of the best promising performances of 2017.

Parvathy as Jaya Shashidharan

A popular name and established performer in South Indian films, actress Parvathy’s Hindi film debut in ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ did leave an impact. Her performance in the film stood equal to her co-star Irrfan Khan’s one, especially in the comic sequences. Their chemistry was indeed a treat to watch. One of the most amazing thing about her character Jaya was when she looked into the camera and started interacting with the audiences. Parvathy was perfect for this role.
