Kissing scenes have been a piece of Bollywood movies throughout decades. In spite of the fact that not regular at first, they are more continuous and acknowledged these days, if CBFC obstruction can be disregarded for some time. Notwithstanding, in spite of such headway in being strong on screen, there are performing artists like Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Sonakshi Sinha and that’s only the tip of the iceberg, who have entirely kept up their no-kissing-onscreen statement for the greater part of their motion pictures, till date. Obviously, not every person is open to locking lips on screen. Sridevi, who has been active on silver screen for a long time, is additionally one of those couple of artistes, and has kept herself far from shooting such scenes. In any case, as of late our eyes got upon an old interview of this oldschool entertainer where she had opened up about her most exceedingly awful involvement in the film business. What’s more, shockingly, it was because of a kissing scene that highlighted her nearby Mithun Chakraborty in their 1989 discharged film ‘Guru’.
In this old meeting with Filmfare, Sridevi had uncovered that Umesh Mehra, director of film ‘Guru’ was asserting that she had really done the kissing scene in the film. While in actuality it was another person, a body twofold of sorts, who was utilized to shoot that specific kiss arrangement.

She said, “Kissing scenes are not for me. For ‘Joshilaay’, Shekhar Kapur did ask me if I would mind kissing Sunny (Deol). When I told him I would feel extremely embarrassed, he said “Okay, don’t worry, we won’t do it.” But the kissing problem of ‘Guru’ was a nightmare. Someone else’s lips were used for a kiss even though I had said I wouldn’t allow this to be done by a stand-in. My parents saw the film and were very upset. And the director (Umesh Mehra) even claimed that I had actually done the kissing scene. That has been my worst experience in the film industry. I really don’t know why I should kiss someone I don’t know. Others can do it but I can’t.” [sic]
Further, she even talked about shooting the rape scenes in films. She said, “Rape scenes are also a headache though I’ve had to do a couple of them because every heroine has to. You have to scream, shout, you get hurt because your bangles break. Thank god, there’s a slowdown on rape scenes nowadays.” [sic]
Well, indeed this was something that Sridevi had no control over then, ultimately leaving her embarrassed.
